The first Bandit Run followed the route made famous in the movie Smokey and the Bandit. The group started out in Texarkana, Texas on May 15 and finished in Atlanta three days later. Around 30 Trans Ams started in Texarkana where they had a send off at the Classic Car Museum. The first night’s stop was in Tupelo, Mississippi, where a send off was given the next morning at the Tupelo Auto Museum. The next stop was Birmingham, Alabama. Runners got a chance to tour and take photos at the Talladega Super Speedway. The run ended at the YearOne Facility in Atlanta. By the end of the run over 100 cars had participated in the event.
