The seventh annual Bandit Run started in a big way. Participants gathered at Restore a Muscle Car in Lincoln, Nebraska, for a kickoff car show and a barbecue. Hal Needham, the great stuntman from Smokey and the Bandit, joined the kickoff event. He signed autographs and even did a question and answer session with participants. The first stop on the run was in Valentine, Nebraska. Runners drove through Badlands National Park en route to Rapid City, South Dakota, and stopped at Mt. Rushmore. From there we traveled through Custer State Park to Laramie, Wyoming. Our last stop was in Golden, Colorado, where runners visited the Colorado National Speedway and the Coors Brewery. The week ended with a car show at Heritage Square in Golden.
